You know, when you do something for the first time, and you’re hoping at least one thing will work according to plan, and if not, well, meh, it can only get better?

Not so with the very first turkey dinner I prepared. Ever. I served it just an hour ago at work, where I am now (until Dec 29th at 6:30 AM, then it’s off to Berlin for New Years Eve… Weeeeeeeee… I digress). Everything went according to plan. Except for a few minor details, and I overcame them by improvising and adapting. I made my very first turkey dinner this evening, and it was perfect. I have never cooked anything as good as this, and that’s saying something.

The kitchen is a battlefield, however. It will take forever to clean up. Luckily, I have my colleagues, for whom I’ve cooked, to help me with that 🙂

To everyone else, who hasn’t had the chance to try my turkey dinner tonight:

  1. Happy – belated – Merry Christmas, I am just catching up!
I have never prepared a turkey, so I stand in awe.
In Austria our traditional “St. Martin’s Goose” (Nov. 11) is as close as we get to the turkey tradition – but I am just at the consuming end 🙂
